C Spire to Celebrate 2016 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic with its Blue Greens “Take a Shot to Win” Challenge Starting Today

Two week contest in company’s south Mississippi and Gulf Coast retail stores gives consumers chance to cash in on free concert tickets, shopping, technology products and wireless service

Ridgeland, Miss. (March 21, 2016) – Professional golfers won’t be the only ones trying to parlay their golf skills into a big pay day when they compete in the 2016 Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic (MGRC) later this month.

Consumers who visit one of C Spire’s 14 retail stores in the region starting today through Saturday, April 2 will have a chance to win free concert tickets, a 3 day, 2 night hotel stay, a $1,000 shopping spree, iPad Pros and wireless service for a year as part of the Blue Greens “Take a Shot to Win” Challenge contest.

The company plans to award a grand prize and two consolation prizes valued at over $6,900 in a random drawing as part of the two week contest. To qualify and receive an entry, consumers need to be at least 18 years of age (19 for Alabama residents) and sink a putt on a special blue green at one of the C Spire retail locations during normal business hours.

Consumers also will be eligible for a special sales promotion during the same time period, including free third and fourth lines for any 25 GB smartphone shared data plan and free activation on any plan. Participating retail stores include Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, D’Iberville, Gulfport, Hattiesburg (Highway 98, Highway 49 and Turtle Creek Mall locations), Laurel, Lucedale, Ocean Springs, Picayune, Pascagoula, Wiggins and Waynesboro.

The grand prize, worth over $4,600, features a pair of tickets to a May 13 Florida Georgia Line concert as part of a 3 day, 2 night hotel stay and a $1,000 shopping spree at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama. The prize also includes an iPad Pro tablet and wireless service for a year. Second and third place winners will receive a package valued at over $1,100 each, including an iPad Pro tablet and other promotional items from C Spire. No purchase is necessary to participate in the contest or to qualify for one of the prizes.

Richmond said the company also is partnering with the MGRC, Chevron and Excel by 5 to promote childhood literacy by collecting children’s books at all of its retail stores in the region. For every children’s book donated, consumers will receive free adult admission on Chevron Family Day (Saturday, April 2) at Fallen Oak. Children under 16 accompanied by a ticketed adult are admitted free.

All of the books collected from consumers will be donated to early childhood education and children’s literacy programs in the region. “Our children are our greatest resource and our future and we’re proud to support a program that emphasizes the critical role that communities play in helping educate our children during their formative years,” Richmond said.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament, which is presented by C Spire, will feature 75 professional golfers, including 19 PGA Tour Champions major winners and five World Golf Hall of Famers, competing for a $1.6 million purse at the award-winning Tom Fazio-designed course in Saucier.
